U|V brings 35 years of experience to the table, resulting in smooth project Development, Design, and Delivery.

Since the time that man has tamed fire he has had the need for illumination. Since the use of the water wheel or the wind to propel the sail of a ship, man has understood and harnessed natural resources. The time has come for a shift in our use and production of energy, if not we risk the loss of illumination

  • Solar Photovoltaics

Since 1954 when the “Photovoltaic Effect” was first observed; size, technologies, purpose, and cost, have enabled the power of the sun to be harnessed as a reliable resource for an expanding and aging electric grid.

“Reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions is at the heart of the world’s accelerating shift from climate-damaging fossil fuels towards clean, renewable forms of energy. The steady rise of solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation forms a vital part of this global energy transformation.”

    (International Renewable Energy Agency, 2019)

  • Electric Vehicle Charging

In 2017, the U.S. Department of Energy - Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy issued a report analyzing the needs of an EV Infrastructure. Based on that report the current installation of approximately 75,000 ( 100,000 in 2021) EVSE facilities, is only about 12.5% ( 16.6% in 2021) of the projected 601,000 EVSE installs required for the estimated 15 million EV’s on the road by 2030. These EV vehicles will put new demands on the aging electrical infrastructure. Forward thinking would look at these vehicles as potential grid assets. Through proper grid management, decarbonation of transportation will move forward.

  • Energy Infrastructure

U.S. electricity generation currently relies heavily on thermal generation sources such as coal, nuclear, and natural gas. As our climate warms and water availability changes, it can become more challenging to employ and rely on these generation technologies. A confluence of natural, technological, and socioeconomic trends is poised to alter the electricity generation landscape. Growing population translates to growing electricity demands that can be driven higher with rising temperatures. While innovation expands the range of technologies used for electricity generation, aging power plants could leave a gap in electricity supply that is difficult to fill.
